Stitchwell Patterns
Welcome to my corner of the quiltiverse.
I’m Michelle, a quilt pattern designer living in Portland, Oregon. The very first quilt I designed, Cat’s Game, was based on a tic-tac-toe game that I played with my daughter. I submitted it to a magazine, and the moment it was accepted I knew I had found my dream job. Since then, I have designed and illustrated more than 70 quilt and sewing patterns for magazines, books, and fabric companies.
I find quiltspiration everywhere, from walking around town and exploring art galleries to digging up vintage treasures at thrift shops and flea markets. In my work, I love combining traditional piecing with modern techniques to create patterns with a story to tell that are fun to sew.
When I’m not designing or quilting, you can find me teaching and talking about the creative process. I’d love to partner with you, your guild, or your quilt shop.
Let’s stitch well and prosper, Michelle
