Hello and thanks for stopping by my little corner of the quiltiverse.
My name is Michelle and I am a quilt pattern designer living in Portland, Oregon. The first quilt I designed, Cat’s Game, was based on a tic-tac-toe game that I played with my daughter. I submitted it to a magazine and when it was accepted I knew I had found my dream job! Since then I have designed and illustrated more than 50 quilt and sewing patterns for magazines, books, and fabric companies.
I find quilt inspiration everywhere, from walking around my neighborhood to exploring museum collections and archives. I love to think of clever ways to use traditional piecing techniques and to pair quilt blocks so they make secondary designs. It’s a never-ending adventure of surprise and delight!
I love talking about creativity and exploring the design process through teaching others how to design and create their own quilts. I’d love to partner with you, your guild or quilt shop. Let’s find a way to collaborate.
Piece and Long Life, Michelle.
